Recently, we spoke with one of our clients about their two-year property development journey—and how our funding made all the difference. Here’s what they had to say:

So, tell us—what was the funding for?

It was for a redevelopment project. We demolished the existing building and rebuilt it as a brand-new residential property.

How did the funding from Merx make a difference?

Honestly, it was crucial. The whole process, from design to rebuild, took about two years, and having reliable funding was key to making sure everything ran smoothly. The Merx funding gave us the confidence to keep things moving at every stage—making sure resources were in place when needed and avoiding delays. Without it, we wouldn’t have been able to complete the project within the timeframe.

What were some of the key benefits of this project?

Rebuilding the old structure definitely added value—it’s now a much more attractive property for the market and provides a better living environment.

The flexibility in your funding was also a game-changer. It gave us the ability to keep the project on schedule without the usual hold-ups. We wrapped up construction in April, and although we haven’t seen the full returns just yet, completing it quickly allowed us to get it listed sooner and start generating returns right away.

What was your overall experience working with us?

Really positive. As a first-time developer, I appreciated how easy Merx were to work with. The flexibility made a huge difference—no rigid rules getting in the way, just straightforward support that helped us keep the project on track.

The Merx team were great with communication and organisation, which really stood out. Even though the market wasn’t ideal when the project finished, that wasn’t a problem with you guys. Merx was a great partner.
